Competition
History
The competition was created in 1993 as a reaction of the Institute of Industrial Design to flooding the Polish market with goods from behind the newly opened borders. It was to be a way to select and reward ambitious goods of new Polish producers, distinguish them from foreign and PRL tandem.

The Good Design Competition Inauguration
Poland’s first promotional program consisting in searching for and awarding Polish products characterised by a high quality of design – in the following categories: furniture furnishing fabrics lighting glass fine pottery household appliances sanitary ceramics and fittings interior finishing materials
1st edition of the Good Design Competition 1993
monitoring – market review first exhibition in the IWP (18–25 October 1993) Product show was combined with their sale on site in the gallery of IWP
1995
3rd edition of the Good Design Competition 1995
February – competition exhibition, for the first time under the name of GOOD DESIGN ‘95 + a catalogue published DESIGN OF THE YEAR ‘95 award, since then – the award for the best Polish product in a given year; cyclically granted by a minister responsible for economy
1998
V-VII edition – break in the exhibition organisation
A break in the exhibition organisation. Winners were granted with the Good Design certificates only.
